We saw lots of folks with the Zoom H4 recorder wandering around, it caused a bit of a wave in the podcasting and field recording community, due in no small part to it’s built-in mics. Well Zoom have obviously picked up on this and designed the new H2 recorder around the mic itself. In fact, the H2 looks like a mic but is actually a 96kHz 24-bit recorder with three mic capsules inside for M&S recordings and other clever techniques. Details are light at present as the unit is not going to be available until mid-Spring but keep an eye out, as it’s small form factor is sure to please the gadget freaks.
