When you've been around the block a few times, and been to the odd few music trade shows, you get to know pretty much how things pan out, and what to expect from certain companies... right?
Er..'wrong' as it turned out for me.

See, the last times I've seem the guys at Notion, their stand has been filled with the sounds of classical music - in fact they've had some pretty S*^t-hot players demonstrating their music composition and performance software, along to the sounds of the London Symphony Orchestra, as I recall.
So it was a bit of a shocker to come across Jim Boitnott standing in front of a poster with a bloody-great picture of a ROCK guitar! Heavens above! Has a certain Jack Black snuck into the organisation and turned them on to the Dark Side?

Nope, course not.
But they have got some cool new sounds, *and* a honed version of Notion called Protégé aimed at songwriters, musicians and students.
Notion itself is now at version 1.6, and boasts a few new features, but I'll let Jim explain it himself - check out the video, and for more info, visit their website here:-
