Tech 21 have introduced two new pedals - the Boost D.L.A., an analog delay emulator and the Boost R.V.B., an analog reverb emulator. Each uniquely incorporates a clean Boost function for up to 9dB of additional volume. Tech 21 say that, with Boost and delay or Boost and reverb in a single pedal, solos jump out with greater dimension.
These new pedals are designed with user-tweakable, â€œlo-fiâ€� analog technology. By manipulating the controls, Tech 21 say that you can infuse degrees of warmth and life characteristic of vintage delays and reverbs. They tell us that this circuitry intentionally injects the inherent imperfections of vintage units, which is what makes them so seductive and nostalgic. A single, continuously-variable Time control on each pedal provides a full sweep of delay (up to 1000 milliseconds) or size. Both pedals offer 100% analog Mix (ranging from 100% dry to 100% wet), Feedback, Tone and Level controls for warm, organic sounds.
The Boost D.L.A. features a Flutter control that introduces modulation which adds a slight shimmering/choruslike effect of a vintage tape echo. The Boost R.V.B. features a Rumble control to contour the low-end of the reverb. The Boost D.L.A. and Boost R.V.B. controls are engineered so the user can explore and custom tailor such delay styles as digital, vintage tape and bucket brigade, and such reverb styles as spring, plate and natural room/hall ambiance.
Other features include 1megOhm highimpedance 1/4â€� input, 1kOhm low-impedance 1/4â€� output, custom silent-switching actuator, sturdy metal construction. Each are operable with 9V alkaline battery (not included) or optional DC power supply (Tech 21 Model #DC2).
