Smart Loops has released its Phat to Phreaky Hip-Hop loop library in Apple Loops and REX2 formats. Previously this essential collection of contemporary and old school grooves was available only in ACID format.
Smart Loops say that now musicians and producers can create unique Hip-Hop tracks using any of the leading Mac and PC music software— including GarageBand, Logic Express, Logic Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Reason, Ableton Live, Cubase, Pro Tools, SONAR, Project5, Cakewalk Home Studio, Guitar Tracks Pro, FL Studio, Digital Performer, ACID, and other compatible software.
Smart Loops tell us that Phat to Phreaky is the ultimate collection of urban beats, breakdowns and fills, and comes straight from the beatboxes, drum machines and samples that you hear on today’s hottest songs. The library contains over 800 grooves in a wide array of styles ranging from contemporary Hip-Hop beats to old school grooves and even slow jams. It has grooves in both straight and swing feels.
Smart Loops enlisted some of Hip-Hop’s leading beatmakers to produce the grooves in Phat to Phreaky. This library includes beats from Joey P. (TLC, Sean “P. Diddy Combs, Fabolous, Jagged Edge), James “DJ Melo Davies of Underground Productions (Queen Latifah, Marky Mark, LFO, Popstars Eden’s Crush), Dale “Rambro Ramsey (Jay-Z, U.G.K., Ludacris, Justin Timberlake), Michael Nickolas (music for ABC, NBC, CBS and Showtime), Frank Basile (world-class drummer and Smart Loops founder), Tracey Clarke (Producer with RJAM/Island Records) and Corey Presley (Jagged Edge).
Phat to Phreaky was primarily designed for use in urban music but Smart Loops say that the loops also work great in Rock and Pop songs, layered right in with live drums. Most of the loops are offered in dry, unprocessed form, so users can add plug-ins and customize the grooves to their individual sound.
