To mark the occasion of the release of the new Cubase 4, Steinberg are running a remix competition. Entrants are asked to remix a version of the ‘All 4 You’ Cubase 4 song, in their own style.
Here’s list of the prizes described in Steinberg’s own words…
First Prize: 3-day trip to Hamburg including visit to Steinberg HQ
The lucky winner of the first prize will be invited to Hamburg in northern Germany to get to know the makers of Cubase personally, including sightseeing in the picturesque, thriving Hanseatic city, as well as a taste of the city’s exciting cultural scene and nightlife.
2nd Prize: Yamaha GO46 FireWire Audio Interface
Wherever you are, the GO46 FireWire audio interface is the ideal mobile recording solution. Features include 2 phantom-powered multi-format audio inputs, four audio outputs plus S/PDIF and MIDI I/O. The GO46 offers high-quality Yamaha preamps, crystal 24/96 resolution and low latency ASIO driver inside a robust case that can handle the rough and tumble of life on the road.
3rd Prize: Yamaha HS50m Studio Monitors
The HS series of monitors was developed by Yamaha’s design experts as the second coming of their famous NS10M monitor. The HS50 offers a highly linear response with a crystal clarity you can trust. If your mix sounds good on the HS series, it’ll sound good just about anywhere else.
4th Prize: Steinberg VST Instrument of your choice
Need a top-quality grand piano for your studio? Or maybe an entire symphonic orchestra? Or perhaps a new drummer? The winner of the fourth prize can pick their own VST instrument from Steinberg’s range of first class VSTi’s.
5th - 20th Prize
Even if you don’t win one of these prizes, you might still be in with a chance of getting your hands on one of our exclusive All 4 You T-shirts…
The complete ‘All 4 You’ Cubase project is located in full quality on the Cubase 4 and Cubase Studio 4 installation DVD, as well as on the Cubase 4 Product Presentation DVD available at local Steinberg dealers.
If you don’t have access to these high-quality versions, mp3 versions of all the tracks are available as a download. Steinberg say that if you want to use the complete All 4 You song to make your remix, including all tracks, you can download the MP3 Pack 1. Just unpack the archive and import the audio files into your sequencer of choice, placing them all at the same start position. If you only want to use the vocals or have a slower internet connection, you should download MP3 Pack 2.
Pricing and Availability:
Free Entry. Closing date for the competition is December 21 2006.
See Steinberg website for details.
