At last year's Plasa Show, we filmed Allen & Heath MD Glenn Rogers demoing the Xone 3D...this year he's showing some altogether bigger toys, and the one we found him extolling the virtues of was the new iLive console.

It's a clever idea - a control surface connected by ethernet cable to a remote interface unit, and A&H have taken the experience gained in building their traditional analog consoles to the design of this digital desk - it seems pretty intuitive in operation.

Here's a very brief bullet list...

DR-64 + iLive-144 touring system:

  • Dual psu and flight case
  • 44 Faders
  • 48 Mic inputs from stage, 16 inputs at surface. expandable to 96 mic inputs from stage
  • 64 channels. Can be expanded to 128 channels
  • 32 buses assignable as groups, auxes, main, matrix
  • 16 DCA groups
  • 2 Stereo FX units
  • Graphic EQ on every mix

It has some very pretty coloured lights too ;-)
