In recent years Allen & Heath have embraced the DJ world, and make some mighty fine kit aimed at clubs and Djs, but their heritage is in the production of larger format consoles for studio and live use, so it's nice to see them continue the line with the introduction of a new Monitor console - the GL2800M.

As more performers are using in-ear monitoring systems, there's a demand for stereo monitor feeds rather than the traditional mono wedge, and the configuration of the GL2800M caters for this with 16 mixes - either as 8 stereo feeds, or a mixture of stereo and mono mixes.

We caught up with Reasearch & Development Manager Mike Griffin who gave us an in-depth tour of the new desk, and explained some of the design considerations involved in its production.
