PreSonus announced at the show that they are now shipping the INSPIRE 1394 software controlled expandable FireWire Recording Interface.
The INSPIRE 1394 features four analog inputs and two analog outputs at professional-quality 24-bit/96k A/D/A conversion rate. Inputs include two custom-designed PreSonus microphone preamplifiers with +48V phantom power and two instrument Hi-Z inputs on the front panel. Dual mono or stereo selectable line level or phono (with RIAA filter) inputs are also available on the rear panel. Outputs on the INSPIRE 1394 include RCA unbalanced and mini TRS on the rear panel as well as headphone output on the front panel.
The Windows and Mac compatible INSPIRE 1394 is completely controlled by an easy-to-use software mixer control panel. Controls include, input gain, phantom power, limiter (off/on), preamp boost (off/on), sample rate, headphone volume, main output volume as well as zero latency input mixing with playback mixing.
Four INSPIRE 1394’s can be connected together for up to sixteen simultaneous inputs of 24-bit/96k recording. The INSPIRE also comes complete with Cubase LE 48-track audio recording and production software.
Presonus sales director Rick Naqvi told us “The INSPIRE is an amazing tool for people play music in a band or collaborate with others. For example four band members can each own an INSPIRE 1394 and write songs or record ideas at home. Then they can come together and record the entire band with all four INSPIRE 1394’s connected for a total sixteen inputs. It’s a great way to split up the cost of a sixteen input recording system.
The INSPIRE is compatible with all ASIO, WDM and Core Audio applications including Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar, Garage Band, Logic Express, Logic Pro and many others. More From:
