Creamware have a new addition to their ASB (Authentic Sound Box) family – hardware recreations of classic keyboard instruments using physical modelling technology.
The B4000 does for the classic Hammond B3 organ what Creamware have already done for the Mini Moog and Prophet V. The company claim to have carefully scrutinized all the details of the original Hammond Organ and Leslie cabinet - All of the 91 tone wheels, the analog circuits, the interraction between organ and Leslie, the keyclick, the crosstalk of the choruses - and re-engineered them with love to create a real organ with hefty bass, clearly defined mids and screaming highs.
While it comes with equipped with real wood side panels and drawbars, some modern enhancements have also been made to the B4000. You get velocity sensitivity, tunable signal envelopes and an integrated audio input, there is also a USB interface for connecting to a computer. Patches can be edited directly within the unit or via the remote-control software.
