Never ones to sit on their laurels, pioneering elctronic music label Mute Records have launched Mute Station, an irregular sequence of transmissions from their London HQ. Podcasting is the latest buzzword in internet broadcasting, where essentially a radio show is converted to mp3 and made available for download. Due to the fabulous success of Apples iPod (see the latest iPOD nano), the phrase Podcasting has stuck – much to Apple’s pleasure no doubt. The first in the series Communique #1, features Bath based electronic music duo Golfrapp who are currently nicely placed in both the UK Singles and Albums chart with their new release Supernature. The album takes them to a wider audience and was mixed by arch mixmaster Mark Spike Stent. Goldfrapp's large collection of desirable electronic instruments are featured heavily in the current release, from strange Russian synthesizers to the classic electro-mechanical keyboards. In the Podcast they talk about the making of the album, inspiration and more to a soundtrack of Supernature.
