NATIVE INSTRUMENTS, the German audio software company behind award-winning products such as REAKTOR, ABSYNTH, B4, PRO-53, FM7, SPEKTRAL DELAY, KONTAKT, and TRAKTOR, announces their first product release for Mac OS X: TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 2.0. TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 2.0 brings professional DJ mixing to the digital domain, unifying performance, mixing, and composition. TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 2.0 integrates two playback modules for playback and mixing of MP3s, Sound Designer II and AIFF files, and AUDIO-CDs with a convenient playlist section, DJ mixer, beat matcher, digital scratcher, cue section, and high-quality filters. The innovative parametric control of the software makes it possible to record all control movements and export a mix in a dedicated file format. "DJ mixing has become one of the most electrifying domains in the new music culture and NI is proud to present an innovative product such as TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 2.0 as the first of it's kind for Mac OS X," says Daniel Haver, CEO of Native Instruments. "Mac OS X offers highly advanced audio technologies with unprecedented power and great stability which gives our users an outstanding platform for creating and performing music and fits perfectly with the requirements of a product such as TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 2.0." "Mac OS X Core Audio integrates all audio functions directly into the operating system, enabling ultra low latency and superior overall performance for professional music creation and production," said Ron Okamoto, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. "We're pleased to have NATIVE INSTRUMENTS join the growing list of developers offering Mac OS X applications and helping Mac users accelerate their transition to our super modern operating system." TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 2.0 for Mac OS X benefits from ultra-low latency and preemptive multitasking which guarantees realtime, glitch-free audio playback, file browser scrolling, track loading, filtering, and recording functions with rock solid stability. Users with multiple processors can even take advantage of Mac OS X's symmetric multiprocessing, which allows different modules of TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 2.0 to run seamlessly on separate processors. TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 2.0 takes advantage of Mac OS X Core Audio, which simplifies the use of multiple I/O audio interfaces and makes MIDI interface drivers directly available at the operating system level. TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 2.0 will be available from the end of September 2002 and will retail for $199. You can find more information about TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 2.0 at
