Your basic cassette 4-track, which I feel duty-bound to include here. While on a 4-month stint away from home, I decided not to haul along my digital rig, and instead make myself a little cassette EP on the Porta One. I dusted it off, cleaned the heads, packed it up with some effects, mics, and a bunch of blank tapes. The results are terrific, actually.

Good Points
Recording hot to tape, even cassette tape, makes a lovely sound. A drum machine makes a nice crunch, guitars sound creamy. You can do this with a digital machine, I guess, if you have a good compressor, but there is a natural quality to this machine that I really love.
Bad Points
It's a cassette 4-track.
