The Mx-8r is a 2u high rackmounted 8 channel line mixer. It has 2 fx sends, mono, and 2 returns in stereo. One send can be pre or post fader, the other is locked at post. Each channel has a 3 way switch to choose between low mediam and high input level(no specs on exact db ratings).

Each channel's front panel controlls consist of a knob for each fx send, a pan knob and a slider for volume, there is also a clip indicator for eavh of the 8 channels. There are also 2 faders for the master level along with a 7 segment level meter for the left and right signals. There is a Headphone out with a knob for its volume next to the master level faders.

On the rear of the MX-8r there is a MIDI thru built in, 1 in and 3 thru(the mixer cannot be controlled via midi in any way though). The output is in either 1/4" or XLR connectors, the fx send/returns are 1/4" and the 8 channels all have both RCA and 1/4" inputs.

Good Points
Not too expensive, midi thru is handy. Level switches on each channel are also a plus.
Bad Points
only 8 channels, only one fx send can be pre-fader.
