We had some TC Electronic guitar FX pedals arrive at the office recently, and the reviewer was pretty impressed, not only by the tones, but also by the Tone Print concept they introduced - story goes, when a pedal's electronics is going through the design process, there are many parameters and value ranges to be chosen from, only a fraction of which can actually be usefully adjusted on the final pedal, given the limited scope for control knobs, etc.
So what if top players were given access to these many 'hidden' parameters and asked to create their dream pedal?
Well, that's what the Tone Print models offer - there's a switch to select them on the pedal, and they can downloaded and installed via a USB connector on the pedal, so you can add a fully custom Tone Print of your choice.
Neat idea.
Oh, and the PolyTune now caters for a Drop D too
Pedal specialist Tore Lynggaard Mogensen gave us an overview of the range.
