The MIDI Goblin is a a Hardware Patch librarian. Arpeggiator, Sequencer, Chord generator, MIDI LFO ...and is completely hackable! They've just launched their Kickstarter and it's available at a very reasonable price - and seems to be loaded with some excelletn features.
Here are some details from the Kickstarter:
The MIDI Goblin can be used as a patch bank for synthesizers and MIDI controllers that lack the ability to save patches locally but have the ability to receive MIDI CC messages. Allowing you to load your settings anywhere, any time, without having to lug around a computer or laptop.
MIDI Goblin allows users the ability to save patches for devices they define. If your synth, midi controller or computer program can transmit MIDI CC or NRPN messages over 5 pin MIDI - MIDI Goblin can save and load those values. You define the device, MIDI Goblin saves the values.
If your synth has the ability to save and load patches, but uses a 7-segmented displays and patch banks, you can use MIDI Goblin to name and load your patches in any order you want. Massively useful for musicians who have difficulty remembering where they've saved patches on their synth.
If your synth lacks MIDI output but has the ability to receive MIDI CC messages, you can pair MIDI Goblin with a midi controller or computer program that can transmit MIDI CC messages to save patches for your synth. The patches can be loaded later with or without the programming device connected.
